Long weekend in BUCHAREST - capital of Romania - the City of JOY

Bucharest – The Capital City of Romania – has been and continues to be ‘One of Europe’s pearls’; a modern European city, where “The City’s Youth” is fed through a never-ending fight between the past and the future, with a powerful mark which is felt all over the place.

In the Middle Ages the Greeks called it “HILARIOPOLIS – The City of JOY”; in the 1800s it was considered “Little Paris“, fully living up to the name – for everything the city represented back then, there is no exaggeration to say that BUCHAREST is indeed a modern city in European style.

Today, the city is a mixture of the old and new, traditional and modern, east and west, which on the one hand gives it the aspect of an eclectic and chaotic metropolis, and originality and charm, on the other.
